LIMA — Three men charged in the slaying of a man in Shawnee Township in March waived their right to a speedy trial Thursday.
Gavin R. Lauck, 19, Collin Dysert, 20, and Dalton Duncan, 19, appeared separately to waive their right to a speedy trial. Allen County Common Pleas Judge David Cheney told each of them the U.S. Constitution gives each of them right to be tried within 90 days since they are in custody, being held in jail.
After each consulted with their attorneys at separate hearings, each agreed to waive the right to give their attorneys more time to prepare a defense.
