LIMA — A college student who crashed a car after drinking, killing his friend, is scheduled to stand trial June 6.
Zackery Brown, 21, of Waterford, Mich., was assigned a second pretrial for March 10. He is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them.
The Nov. 10 crash killed 18-year-old Brenden Wale of St. Louis, Mich. Brown crashed a vehicle off state Route 115 not far from the Allen-Putnam county line. A state trooper who found Brown walking down the roadway said Brown smelled of alcohol.
