LIMA — Andre White on Thursday admitted he fired his gun at an individual on the streets of downtown Lima at close range — and missed — earlier this year.
That admission came during a change-of-plea hearing during which White accepted a deal from prosecutors and pleaded guilty to a first-degree felony charge of attempted murder in connection with the May 12 incident.
In exchange for that plea, prosecutors dismissed counts of felonious assault and the discharge of a firearm on or near a prohibited premises, felonies of the second and third degree, respectively. The state also reduced a firearm specification attached to the attempted murder charge from a three-year to a one-year additional charge.
