LIMA — A 60-year-old Lima man alleged to have raped a 12-year-old girl earlier this year pleaded guilty to slightly reduced charges Wednesday in Allen County Common Pleas Court.
Johnny Malloy faces a mandatory prison term of 10 years to life when he is sentenced Dec. 18. Malloy had been scheduled to stand trial next week.
Under the terms of an agreement with prosecutors that was accepted by Malloy earlier in the day, the state agreed to amend the charges against the Lima man to remove language alleging his use of force in compelling the victim in the case to engage in unlawful and unspecified sexual acts. The amended language affected the prison term to which Malloy can be sentenced, removing the required for life imprisonment without possibility of parole.
