LIMA — Anton Grant Sr., 41, Lima, pleaded guilty to second-degree felony possession of cocaine in Allen County Common Pleas Court Wednesday in exchange for the state’s dismissal of several other charges.
Grant faces up to eight years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000 when he is sentenced June 27. He had originally been charged with first-degree felony possession of cocaine with several specifications and a third-degree felony weapons charge following his indictment in June of last year by an Allen County grand jury.
The major drug offender specification alleged that around Feb. 10, 2015, Grant sold or offered for sale at least 100 grams of a Schedule II drug. The count included a firearm specification which, upon conviction, would add a mandatory one-year prison sentence to be served prior to any other penalties. Another specification called for Grant to forfeit $1,636 in currency derived from the alleged sale of the drugs in question.
