LIMA — A 49-year-old Lima man pleaded guilty to the murder of his girlfriend today. He faces up to life in prison when he’s sentenced.
Leo Stapleton, 49, was charged in the slaying of 40-year-old Kimberly Clark. Clark’s body was found inside her apartment at 118 S. Metcalf St., Lima., on Dec. 21, 2016. There were signs of foul play in the apartment that led police to label her death a homicide, a Lima detective said.
Stapleton changed his plea Tuesday morning, when jury selection was scheduled for his planned trial this week in Allen County Common Pleas Judge David Cheney’s courtroom.
