LIMA — A man with a violent past who police said confessed to killing a second person was indicted on the charge of aggravated murder with a repeat violent offender specification.
The indictment against Ross McWay, 37, was made a public record Monday after he was served with a copy. McWay is charged in the Jan. 15 killing of Wendy Jeffers inside her home at 1112 N. Main St. Police found her body after her coworkers reported she didn’t show for work. McWay told police he strangled her and then drown her when she still was breathing.
McWay was Jeffers’ ex-boyfriend and was just released from jail two days earlier after his acquittal on rape charges. McWay served 13 years in prison for killing a man in 2001.
