Lima Police now investigating the second homicide in the city in less than a week after revealing the cause of death of a man found dead over the weekend.
Police now confirm the man found dead by family members in a south side residence was as a result of a shooting. The body of 47-year-old Shannon Scott was discovered around 2:30 p.m. Sunday inside a home on the 600 block of Michael Avenue. Scott's body has been sent to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. Police do not believe this was a suicide, they're investigating this shooting death as a homicide. Police are gathering leads and say this is an active investigation.
"When they arrived at the scene, they determined that it was most likely suspicious nature. They found some shell casings in the house and determined he most likely was shot to death," said Detective Steve Stechschulte.
