LIMA — Day two in the jury trial of a Lima man accused of assaulting and threatening to kill his former girlfriend started with Willie Foster’s attempt to fire his court-appointed attorney.
It ended a few hours later with a plea change that resulted in Foster being convicted of the five felony charges against him. An agreement with prosecutors caps his maximum time behind bars at 15 years.
All the key elements of the day took place outside the jury’s presence.
